Has your life been lacking a bit of flavour lately? That’s probably because you missed the Taste Buds. But don’t worry, we’re back with a spicy new event – TACO LOVE!
For the first time ever, we will be challenging local restaurants to cook up their most innovative and delicious tacos. We anticipate that this event will be as fun as our renowned BURGER LOVE. Plus, who doesn’t love a little friendly competition?
From Wednesday, Aug. 25 to Friday, Sept. 3 – a full 10 days – you will have the chance to grab a special or signature taco from one of the following eight official participating restaurants as part of TACO LOVE:
- Aurra Coffee + Tacos
- Birchwood Café
- ESCA Gourmet Pizza + Bar
- King George Restaurant
- Mexicali Rosa’s
- Sol De Acapulco
- Tilly’s Eatery & Delicatessen
- Sip & Scoop

“TACO LOVE is finally here! This is one I’ve personally been very excited for,” said Taste Bud, Matt Girgis. “Tacos offer such a versatile canvas from the creative shells, to whatever protein you can think of, to any type of toppings you can dream of. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or even dessert – there’s a taco for that!”
“We’re back and ready to eat some tacos,” said Taste Bud, Pat Larose. “We have had TACO LOVE marinating in our brains behind the scenes for a while now. We wanted to spice things up. It’s still as important as ever to support our local restaurants. TACO LOVE features a few new restaurants and local favourites that we are happy to work with again. We hope you enjoy it!”
You will have the chance to vote for your favourite taco on our website www.yourlocaltastebuds.ca and our judges will also have the chance to select one winner.
We imagine it will be very hard to vote for your favourite as each restaurant puts so much thought and passion into their entry. We love to see restaurant owners coming together, from across Cornwall and SD&G, to create something. We are very excited about how this gives restaurant owners the chance to try something new or remind us how awesome their signature dish is. They’re all winners in our hearts!
