Hot Dog Love 2026: The Winners Are In!
After 10 delicious days, five wildly creative entries and 435 hot dogs enjoyed across Cornwall, Hot Dog Love 2026 has officially come to an end.
This year’s event brought together five local restaurants, each serving up its own limited-edition creation. A huge thank-you goes to Billy K’s, Seguin Patate, Jet Set Pub, Jack’s Pub and Mr. Puffs for jumping into the fun and giving our community five very different reasons to get out, eat local and vote.
The People Have Spoken
The People’s Choice Award goes to the Ramen Corn Dog from Billy K’s, which earned 37.1% of the public vote.
This crispy creation featured a hot dog battered with ramen and panko, then topped with sriracha mayo and green onions. It was bold, crunchy and clearly a crowd favourite.
The Judges’ Pick
The Judges’ Award goes to the Bang Bang Bacon Dog from Jack’s Pub, which earned an impressive score of 94 out of 100.
Jack’s Pub served up a deep-fried jumbo hot dog wrapped in bacon and topped with sweet and sour pineapple coleslaw, bang bang sauce, crispy wonton, green onion and toasted sesame seeds, all on a toasted sesame seed roll. It was creative, colourful and packed with flavour.
A Big Thank-You to Our Judges
Our five judges spent the day visiting each participating restaurant, tasting every entry and scoring the creations on creativity, presentation, taste and overall satisfaction.
Thank you to Alex Paradis, Nick Alguire, Leanne Bordeau, Stephanie Nesbitt and Todd Lihou for bringing their appetites, enthusiasm and thoughtful feedback to this year’s judging panel. It is a tough job, but somebody has to eat the hot dogs.
